About Christie Jenkins

Born in Dallas, Texas, at age five Christie snapped her first photo that was later published. Twenty years later, New York literary circles credited her with starting a trend - the genre of photos of men for women, with her landmark little book BUNS: A Woman Looks At Men's. It and the subsequent five calendars sold over one million copies for G. P. Putnam, and she was a popular guest on the talk show circuit. Respected as a quality portrait artist in Hollywood, her private celebrity work has appeared in magazines such as People, TV Guide, USA Today, Playbill, Cosmo, US, Soap Opera Digest and many international publications, as well as gracing several book covers. She's photographed two Olympic Games and in 1988 was the most widely published photographer of Figure Skating in the world, with TIME Magazine nominating one shot as "The Best Sports Photograph of the Year." From a humanitarian medical family, her parents gave her a deep sense of spirituality, and having never studied photography in any way, Miss Jenkins feels her gifts were specifically God-given. Miss Jenkins has had three solo shows of her work, and lives in Los Angeles with her beloved cats.
